Ravi Kulur - Rembrandt Ferichs - Heiko Dijker

Image

Stepping out of the regular, we can have extraordinary encounters, beyond borders that the world sometimes forces upon us. When Ravi, Rembrandt & Heiko made music together for the first time, there was a marvellous spark of inspiration. All are well known artists for their global travels in music and life, creating their own voice on their instrument.

The bansuri (bamboo flute) of Ravi takes flight from the depth of classical South Indian raga-music, flying out of the frame of Indian music through the wondrous layers of minimal world-jazz piano and harmonium of concertpianist Rembrandt, moving perpetually on the heartbeat of Heiko’s tabla-rhythm.The album was recorded in one of Europe’s best studios, to capture all the detail of the deep sound production of the breath through bamboo, hammers on strings and fingers on skin.

Ravichandra Kulur – bansuri;
Rembrandt Frerichs - piano and harmonium;
Heiko Dijker - tabla and percussion.
