‘Like Songs Like Moons’ is steeped in the jazz tradition and demonstrates a remarkable sensitivity for melody and words. The title is inspired by the poem ‘Still I Rise’ by Maya Angelou. The 11 songs include ‘Early In The Morning’ that was awarded with the Herb Alpert Young Composers Award from the ASCAP-foundation, a prize to encourage young gifted composers. And a poignant version of the song Preacher Boy, written by Billie Holiday that she never recorded.
