Dear Lord is an initiative of internationally established jazz guitarist, composer and arranger Sandro Fazio. He was born in France and raised in Sicily from the age of 10 and soon became a recognised figure on the jazz scene in Catania. In 2000 Sandro was accepted at the prestigious Conservatory of Amsterdam to study jazz guitar and attended masterclasses by a.o. Jesse van Ruller and John Scofield.

Through his musical career Sandro Fazio has had the honour to collaborate with internationally renowned musicians and he has performed at prestigious festivals and venues across Europe. His music has been widely reviewed, most notably in the American jazz magazine DownBeat, as well as broadcast on European national radiostations and music television networks, including Djazz and Mezzo.

Dear Lord came together for a modern tribute to John Coltrane. After over 30 European concerts (notably in the Netherlands, France and Italy) the band recorded the album 'Dear Trane'.

John Coltrane was one of the greatest jazz innovators in the world. The group Dear Lord is born from the attempt to approach the emotional strength of the compositions of the great American saxophonist, making them relive with contemporary sounds, experiences and musical acquisitions.
The songs that the band offers on ‘Dear Trane’, are totally re-arranged and ‘rewritten’ by trying to imagine how Coltrane would have adjusted his songs if he would had composed them today. An arduous attempt, considering the magnitude of the composer, but just as pure and true to his intentions.
