Daniel van der Duim – Gilgamesh (Book + CD)
The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the oldest works of literature. The origins of this epic poem probably lie in southern Mesopotamia, around 2100 BC. Composer Daniel van de Duim and designer Gerco Hiddink bring this epic story back to life in the form of a book with CD. The band consists of young jazz cats: Edison winner Loek van den Berg on sax, Koen Smits on trumpet, Prashant Samlal on guitar, Willem Romers on drums and Daniel himself on piano, synths and synth-bass. The design of the book is breathtaking, like traveling in a time machine into the visual language of 4,000 years ago.
